Quality Assurance Manager


Establish and maintain a safe working area. Ensures customer communication takes place for casting quality issues. Ensures the administration of organization's quality process improvement efforts. Continuously and effectively communicates the established and evolving goals & objectives of senior management to the workforce. Reduce cost/waste if/when possible. Be knowledgeable of internal and external pertinent procedures and customer requirements. Maintain employee scheduling in department. Involved in quality improvement projects tools and techniques ensuring conformance with organization quality standards. Evaluates quality assurance process sampling systems, procedures and statistical techniques. Responsible for all quality improvement issues related to products and services used in the Quoting Process, Sampling Systems and APQP/PPAP process. Manage continuous improvement process by identifying and quantifying problems and translating them into solutions to reduce operating costs and increase efficiency.


+ Must understand foundry/casting process along with defect analysis.

+ Ability to demonstrate problems identification and resolution.

+ Must be able to promote continuous quality improvement.

+ Must understand problem solving tools including 8D, Six Sigma, APQP requirements.

+ Must be able to address customer quality concerns and address root cause.

+ Maintain quality system.

+ Must be able to issue and verify RGA system with communication to customer.

+ Monitor sorting activity at customer and/outsource.

+ DWI's, CS's, QP's, ISO/TS procedures and policies.

+ Provide a safe work environment and enforce safety policies within department.

+ Knowledge and exposure to all production operations.

+ Working knowledge of Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, and FMEA's.


+ Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.

+ ASQ Certification to Quality Engineer and or Manager recommended.

+ Must have working knowledge of computer & quality related programs.

+ Must have working knowledge of quality trouble shooting techniques.

+ Must participate in all in-house training offered for supervisor level position.

+ Must have working knowledge of overall foundry procedures and practices.


+ Foundry/Leadership training

+ Time management

+ Mistake/error proofing techniques

+ AIAG core tool manuals

+ ISO/TS standard

+ Customer requirement manuals

+ Must acquire knowledge of safety policies/procedures for the department

+ Must acquire general knowledge of foundry operations and exposure to all production operations (ex. Melt, Core, VMM, Millroom, Maintenance, and Administration) including quality of the company.

Travel Requirements

+ Need to be shift mobile along with ability to travel to other plants if needed or requested.

In accordance with company goals must adhere to high standards of performance and assign tasks that encourage growth to team members. Must have strong oral and written skills. Must be able to plan and organize and facilitate team meetings and short presentations when applicable.
